1. What does Nabokov think makes a good reader? Answer: Nabokov thinks that a good reader has imagination, memory, a dictionary, artistic sense, is a re-reader and combines the three views of being a storyteller, teacher and the enchanter.
2. Do you agree? Answer: Yes, I do agree.
3. What do you believe are the characteristics of a good reader? Answer: I believe in all the qualities above. Like Nabokov, I think that the enchanter or “the magic” is most important. The magic evokes sensual imagery and brings all the senses to life. The qualities of a good reader would require the talents of also being a good writer.
4. Do you consider yourself a good reader? Answer: Yes, when I pick up a book that peaks my interest, I am fully engulfed and lose myself completely in the story line.
